adidas Unveils All-Star 2020 Footwear For Chicago_Sole Says It All

We’re exactly one week removed from NBA All-Star Weekend, and the Three Stripes has just unveiled their 2020 collection dedicated to the celebrations of all of the hoops-filled events. There’s much to be told about this assortment as many of its offerings are designed through a collaborative lens as adidas highlights several creatives of the Chicago community, as well as well-known artists such as Daniel Patrick and Pusha T.

For its local-focused renditions, adidas joins forces with Fat Tiger Workshop, a creative hub located in the heart of the Windy City, and shines a spotlight on some of their burgeoning creatives such as Rello Jones, Des Owusu, and Victor Pitre. Each of their renditions are expressive of the creative culture that Chicago has to offer, and is applied towards a handful of silhouettes including the Superstar and Rivalry Hi, all serving as forms of symbolism that heavily relate themes of a love for music, art, and community. Three of the Superstar styles usher in palettes of Valentine’s Day emotion as they deliver with red/pink executions, while Des’ “We All We Got” Rivalry iteration opts for more of a neutral-toned grey.

Jasmine Jones, another creative who holds the experiences she’s encountered within the Chicago Park District basketball community near and dear to her heart, is granted permission to rework the Top Ten HI and Pro Model in her favor. From the printed graphics to the basketball colors, each take is fined tuned with graphics that represent the lines you’d find in your local playground such as the the double-circled shape you’d find sitting in the middle of half court, followed by the orange hues of a freshly painted floor.

Lastly, it’s only right that their basketball lineup is celebrated with the greatest efforts. Set to make their on-court debuts next week arrives a metallic gold Pro model, two colorways of the adiZero 1 – one the original yellow colorway from 2011, and another set with a bed of rose graphics, and a Dame 6 colorway in collaboration with Pusha T that nods to the musical talents which in this case is fitting since Dame D.O.L.L.A. himself will be performing at the game. Following them will be Harden’s Vol. 4 model designed with the help of Daniel Patrick and interestingly enough displays heavy Off-White x Nike Presto vibes, with a similar two-toned offering of Donovan Mitchell’s D.O.N. Issue #1. Grab a closer look here below at the each pair, and expect them to release on adidas.com throughout the upcoming weeks.
