Having been kept fairly under the radar in the new decade, the adidas SPEZIAL family is readying a fresh batch of footwear options for fans to integrate into their Summer rotations. After turning to British football arenas for inspiration for their Winter collection last year, the Three Stripes is swiveling their focus over to the British soul music scene of the 1970s to 1990s. Throwback-inspired palettes emblematic of London’s ‘Soul boys’ fashion trends, as well as the high-spirited house/acid jazz records bumping in the dancehalls of Wigan and Blackpool are distributed amongst each variation.
The four-part collection includes models such as the the Lotherton, Training 76, Ashurt, and Zurro. In regards to presentation, the first two mentioned rely mostly on neutral tones to outfit their bases. The Lotherton douses its upper in a lighter tan hue while its stripes and trim are hued in a drab olive. The training 76 offers a classic look by sticking to an OG white/black color-blocking rounded off with gum outsoles. The Ashurt and Zurro are done up with more of a flashy theme. The former is backdropped with a greyscale build and receives most of its jazzy energy through its neon stripes, while the latter merges between blue/neon complexions similar to their skateboarding division’s recently released Copa Nationale. Peep a detailed look at each pair here below, and find these releasing in select retailers on June 12th.
For other adidas-related news, the Zyon 350 has been postponed to July.
